The SUNY Oneonta women's swimming and diving got nipped by crosstown rival Hartwick 154.5 to 133.5. The loss moves the Red Dragons record in dual meets to 3-1 this season.
Highlights on the afternoon were the performances of senior
Chandler Shepard (Delhi/Delaware Academy) and sophomore
Lauren Zentko (Glenville/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) as they each both won three events, including all the freesytle races.
Shepard took home the sprint freestyle events winning the 50, 100 and 200 yard events. She touched the wall in 24.84, 54.45 and 2:00.23 respectively.
Zentko followed suit by claiming the victories in the distance freestyle events and the 200 yard IM. Lauren finished her races in times of 5:21.24, 10:53.62 and 2:16.12.
Individual event winners included
Taylor Waldrop (Fairport/Fairport) in the 200 yard backstroke (2:15.61) and
Kelly Ruf (Poughkeepsie/Roy C. Ketcham) in the 200 yard butterfly (2:18.15).
The women will be in action again as they travel to Potsdam for the North Country Invitational next weekend. The invite is a two-day event starting on Friday, Nov. 22 at 4 p.m. and finishing on Saturday, starting time 10 a.m.
