Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team hosted the Red Dragons of SUNY Oneonta last night in the Kahl Gym in a non-conference match. The Red Dragons posted the 3-1 win (28-30, 25-12, 25-19, 25-17) and improves to 14-18 on the year. The loss puts Sage at 15-16 on the season.

Erica Darpino (Endicott/Union-Endicott) connected for 14 and 12 kills each, while Erica added three aces with five total blocks.

Kristina Pelaccio (Verplanck/Hendrick Hudson) recorded 18 digs, while freshman outside
Paige Carpluk (Yaphank/Bellport) tallied 11 digs with eight kills and an ace and three block assists.
Junior setter
Becca Horton (Owego/Owego Free Academy) handed out 25 setting assists with five digs, while sophomore setter
Karly Greco (East Patchogue/Bellport) tallied 21 setting assists and five aces to pace the Red Dragons.
Sage's junior Helen Putriment (Troy, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) added a double-double as she had 14 kills with 11 digs with two aces. Rookie Michayla Berard (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) added eight kills for Sage with four digs, while sophomore Morgan Robinson (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) had 10 kills with three aces and four blocks. Sage's rookie setter Rachel Liebig (Hartford, NY/Hartford) posted 39 setting assists in the action with seven digs and two kills.
Junior libero Katelyn Drollette (Cadyville, NY/Saranac) had 19 digs to elevate her career resume to include 1,050 career digs and is climbing the Gator record book as she stands in 13th place in the Sage record book. Sophomore Mickey Mango (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) added eight kills with two digs.
Oneonta will wrap up its 2013 season this weekend hosting the Dig Pink Invitational. The nine-team tournament gets underway on Friday afternoon and concludes on Saturday afternoon. The Invitational is part of a national volleyball event to support breast cancer awareness. Oneonta asks that all attendees wear pink to show support. The team will have a table set up at the event for those who would like to make a donation to the cause.
