Juniors Maria Foglia and Kate Purcell each scored 13 points tonight in leading the Hartwick Hawks to a road win over city rival SUNY Oneonta in nonconference women's basketball action.  The overall difference in the game was at the free throw line as Hartwick (4-1) outscored Oneonta (3-2), 18-6.

After trailing by a point at halftime, 21-20, Hartwick scored the first four points of the second half and never trailed again.  They steadily built its lead through the first 10 minutes of the second half to a 31-24 advantage.  Their biggest lead of the game was when the final buzzer sounded.

Freshman Lyteshia Price (Liverpool/Liverpool) led Oneonta with 11 points.  She also collected seven boards.  Junior Kristin Pappalardo (Mahopac/Lakeland) scored nine points while dishing out five assists.

Oneonta jumped out to an early 9-2 lead on the strength of seven unanswered points after the game was tied at two apiece.  A jumper from junior Alyshia Crawford (Oxford/Oxford) capped the spurt.

A jump shot by Brittney Dumas at the 10:05 mark tied the score at 12 apiece.  Dumas finished the half with six points.

The two teams battled closely over the final 10 minutes with four lead changes.  The final lead of the half was 21-20 in favor of the Red Dragons.

Oneonta will be on the road this Friday, as they open its SUNYAC schedule against Buffalo State.  Tip-off is scheduled for 6pm in a rematch of last year's conference tournament championship game, which Oneonta won 50-41.
