PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The SUNY Oneonta women's basketball team defeated Plattsburgh on the road tonight 50-36 for its third straight win while remaining perfect in the SUNYAC.  The Red Dragons are now 7-4 overall and 5-0 in conference play and remain in first place in the standings.  Oneonta is 5-0 in the SUNYAC for a second consecutive season.  Last year the Red Dragons won its first six games in the conference.

Oneonta built a 30-17 lead at halftime on the strength of a 14-1 run over a nine-minute span in the first half.  They cruised through the second half, building its lead to as many as 16 points twice and not allowing the Cardinals to get any closer than eight points as Plattsburgh shot only 19 percent in the second half.  Sophomore Kristin Pappalardo (Mahopac/Lakeland) was the top scorer for the women tonight with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting that included three from behind the arc.

Lindsey Larivee provided a spark off the bench for the Cardinals, scoring a team-high 11 points on 2-for-4 shooting and hitting seven of her eight free throw attempts.

Madison Slagle (Rome/Rome Catholic) had a good defensive outing for Oneonta recording seven defensive rebounds and three blocks.

Oneonta returns to action this Friday night when they face rival Cortland in a SUNYAC contest beginning at 6pm.
