WILKES-BARRE – The SUNY Oneonta softball team rallied for four runs in the top of the 7th inning of game 2 today to earn a split of its doubleheader at King's College, winning 7-5. Freshman Kerry Leggett closed the door in the bottom of the inning to earn her third win of the season.
Serraro, Katie Hackenburg, Meg Beditz and Sam Voncina each collected two hits in the game for Oneonta, which raised its record to 14-11 with the split.
King's took a 1-0, first-inning lead when Tina Seber walked and eventually scored from third on a sacrifice fly by Brittny Baynes. The Red Dragons scored a pair of runs in the top half of the third to cut the Monarch lead to 3-2. Tricia Kendziera doubled down the left field line with one out and went to third on a single by Serraro. Kendziera scored on a ground out to third base by Hackenburg. Serraro, who made it to third on the ground out by Hackenburg, scored on a two-out single by Stacey Donald.

The Lady Monarchs responded in the bottom half of the third with three runs of their own. Baynes doubled and eventually scored when Taylor reached base on a throwing error. Rutkoski stroked an RBI double before Kaitlin Siegfried added a run-scoring single to give King's a 6-1 lead.
After Oneonta cut the lead to 6-3 in the sixth, the Lady Monarch's added a final run when Harsnischfeger singled, moved to third on a Rachel Zinni bunt, and then scored on a single up the middle by Cardone.
