The Oneonta State women's soccer team fell at home to Ithaca, 2-0, this afternoon in its regular season finale.  It was also the final tune-up for Oneonta (7-8-1) before it hosts Geneseo on Saturday in an opening round game of the 2011 SUNYAC tournament.  Kick-off on Saturday is scheduled for 1pm.

The visiting Bombers scored once in each half for the final margin of victory.  Their first goal came in the 21st minute when sophomore Ellyn Grant-Keane (Lansing/Lansing) put a shot over the head of Oneonta goalie, Amy Lusby (West Babylon/N. Babylon) (West Babylon/N. Babylon) from about 30 yards out.

The Bomber's final goal came in the 78th minute on a breakaway by sophomore Jamie Ruddy (Rochester/Irondequoit).  Ruddy collected a pass before moving by a defender to free herself for a shot that found the back of the goal.

Oneonta's best scoring chance of the match came in the 69th minute of the game when they had a flurry of shots off a corner kick, but came away empty.  Kayla Brantmeyer (Center Moriches/Center Moriches) (Center Moriches/Center Moriches) got her head on a corner kick service by sophomore Kori Hamm (Burlington Flats/Edmeston) (Burlington Flats/Edmeston), but the ball was taken off the goal line by Marla Schilling (Canton, CT/Canton) as it snuck by the Ithaca keeper.
