#Dan Randall (Salem/Salem)# went 2-for-4 with three RBIs Wednesday to lead Oneonta State to an 8-3 baseball victory over Emory & Henry College at Vero Beach, Fla. Randall, #Scott Dubben (Roseboom/Cherry Valley Springfield)# and #Devin Burch (Horseheads/Thomas A. Edison)# had RBI singles in a five-run fifth inning for the Red Dragons (6-0).

O-State also executed a double-steal with runners at the corners in the fifth. #Kevin Knack (Ghent /Ichabod Crane)# stole second and, when E&H; catcher Jarrett Price threw down, #Carmine Caputo (Mahopac/Mahopac)# stole home. Both runners were safe. Caputo contributed two hits, two stolen bases and two runs for O-State, which received two hits apiece from Dubben and Knack.

Winning pitcher #Chris Smith# (1-0) struck out five and walked three over 5 1/3 innings. He allowed three hits and three unearned runs.

#Josh Herzenberg# allowed two hits and struck out four over the final 3 2/3 innings to earn his first save.

"We're getting beat up," OState coach Rick Ferchen said. "We have some injuries and are struggling a little physically, but win-loss wise we're doing OK."
