Results

ONEONTA,NY- The women's swimming & diving team set out to improve from last years dual-meet versus SUNY Oswego. Today was a complete turn-around for the Red Dragons as they defeated the Lakers 124 – 115. This is Coach Chris Schuler-Ghiorse's first time defeating Oswego in her 14 years as the Red Dragon's coach.

They started off the day with a win in the 200-yard medley relay and never looked back. The women went on to win 8 out of 13 events on the day including sophomore Kristen Magliola's (Shoreham)'s win in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:17.17. Magliola's time broke the pool record previously held by Danielle Ulanowski who graduated in 2008.

Later on in the day she went on to win the 100-yard breaststroke by one-hundredth of a second scoring a total of 18 points for the team.

Freshman newcomer Alexxa Poliachik (Niagara Falls) started her career as a Red Dragon with a win in the 50-yard freestyle over teammate Chandler Shepard (Delhi). She followed that up with a win in the 100-yard butterfly over a second and a half faster than the field.

Shepard came back and took her own event, winning the 100-yard freestyle to help the team to the victory.

The team will be travelling to face New Paltz in a dual-meet on November 5th starting at 4:00pm
