Bethel captured the Mideast Regional Championship on Sunday afternoon at Brockport. He went 4-0 during the two-day tournament to improve his record to 48-1 on the year. The title was Bethel’s fourth regional crown as he now advances to the NCAA Championships on March 8th and 9th at Ferrum College. Bethel’s performance earned him the Mideast Regional Championships Outstanding Wrestler.

Bethel opened the tournament on Saturday with a 16-0 technical fall over Keystone’s Cam Smith. Bethel secured his spot in the heavyweight semifinals with a 7-0 decision of TCNJ’s Thomas Marretta. In the semifinals, Bethel made quick work of RIT’s Connor Calkins with a pin in 1:56 to clinch a spot in the NCAA Championships. The championship pitted two nationally ranked heavyweights in top ranked Bethel and fifth ranked Jake O’Brien of Ithaca College. Bethel took home the heavyweight championship with an 8-2 decision over O’Brien.
