    DeSimone helped the women’s soccer team earn two victories in the NCAA tournament this past weekend and advance to the sweet 16 for the first time since 2005.
    In Friday’s game versus Roger Williams, she was able to dribble from about 35 yards and get herself into the box where she got a shot off that sailed over the goalkeepers head to put the Red Dragons on top 3-0.
    In Saturday’s game versus Rochester, the knockout punch for the Red Dragons came in the 84th minute off a corner kick. Nha Wright sent a ball into the box that found its way to an unmarked DeSimone, who volleyed it to the back of the goal for a two goal lead.
    DeSimone leads the team in goals and points with 13 and 27, respectively.
