Innocent took home a first-place finish in the 197-pound weight class at the 54th Annual Rit Invitational this past Saturday. His performance helped the Red Dragons finish third out of 15 teams at the event.

After receiving a bye in the first round, Innocent began his day with a pin of Jeromy Hennning from Norwich University in three minutes. He followed that, with a 10-4 decision over Brian Kent of Case Western. In the semifinals, Innocent garnered a 9-2 decision over John Carroll’s Matthew Ferraro. He captured his first collegiate championship with a major decision over RIT’s Colby Giroux.

Innocent is currently 8-6 overall with a pair of pins.
