The Red Dragons were led during the SUNYAC tournament by Smith, who helped the team finish in 3rd place with 18 points. She was a finalist at third singles. Smith started with an easy straight set win against Kristen Casse of Plattsburgh, 6-0, 6-2. She then knocked off Tretter of Cortland, the top seed, in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0. Lindsey Garyn of New Paltz ended Smith’s run in the title match with a straight set victory, 6-1, 6-1.
Smith and her doubles partner, Carly Fried, won their quarterfinals match at second doubles, 1-6, 6-0, 6-1, before dropping their semifinal match to Kayla DiPaulo/Montana Wilson from New Paltz.
