Piper Seamon joined the Oneonta women’s basketball coaching staff as assistant in
March 2025. During her first season, the Red Dragons reached the semi-finals of the SUNYAC
championship, finishing the regular season 15-11 and 9-9 in conference. Senior Lidia Boucher
received SUNYAC third team honors and freshman Kayla Beaudoin was named SUNYAC
Rookie of the Year.
Seamon assists head coach Daphne Thompson with all aspects of the program including
player development, scouting reports, and film analysis. She focuses on small-group sessions,
film breakdown, and academic advisement. Seamon also helps coordinate various prospect
events, taking lead during the program’s first annual high school scrimmage day in November
2025 where she was responsible for all marketing, communications, and event operations.
Seamon also leads the team’s social media accounts and supervises the dietetics interns.
In 2024-25, Seamon volunteered as a girl’s basketball assistant at her high school alma
mater in Cooperstown, NY. The Hawkeyes finished 21-5, winning the NYS Class C Section III
championship, ending their season in the State Final Four. Seamon assisted in statistical
analytics, practice operations, and game day strategies where she helped develop multiple
athletes who earned All-State and All-Conference recognition.
Seamon was a four-year varsity player at Hamilton College. During her senior season she
helped her team become the first in program history to start a season 10-0 and tied their program
record for the most regular season conference wins in the NESCAC. In 2024 she received the
inaugural Murphy Graduate Scholarship Award. Seamon graduated from Hamilton with a degree
in psychology and a concentration in educational studies. Making the Dean’s List on multiple
occasions, Seamon showcased her passion for athletics and mental health when she presented her
thesis entitled, “Athletic Participation as Protection? Understanding the Relationship Between
Sport Type and Eating Disorders in Females.”
Seamon finished her high school career at Cooperstown CS where she amassed more
than 1,100 points and 500 rebounds. She was a two-time Section III Class C champion and
four-time Center State Conference Champion. Seamon earned multiple All-State,
All-Conference, and MVP honors throughout her career.
Seamon is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Sport Management with a
concentration in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration. She also coaches the U-14 Adapt
Academy NY girl’s AAU team alongside Graham Wooden ‘24 based out of Oneonta, NY.
