Graham Wooden ‘24 joined the Oneonta women’s basketball coaching staff as an
assistant and director of strength & conditioning in 2024. He is responsible for designing and
implementing all strength and conditioning programs for the Red Dragon squad. Wooden also
assists with player development in both small and large group settings where he emphasizes
accountability, leadership, and culture with our team. The program has seen continued success
with Wooden’s assistance as senior Lidia Boucher received SUNYAC conference honors and
freshman Kayla Beaudoin was named SUNYAC Rookie of the Year in the 2025-26 season.
Wooden simultaneously serves as a director for By Any Means New York based in
Oneonta, NY overseeing athlete development, program structure, and performance standards. He
leads training sessions with over 60 athletes focused on skill acquisition, physical development,
and holistic athlete growth. Graham founded Wooden Health and Performance LLC (Oneonta,
NY) in 2022 which operated as a private sport performance and strength & conditioning
business, serving over 100 local athletes.
Wooden was a four-year varsity basketball player, graduating from SUNY Oneonta with
a degree in exercise science. He began his athletic career at division II Mansfield University
before transferring back to his hometown his junior year. Playing for the Oneonta men’s
program, Wooden averaged 10.5 points, shooting 42% from the field, 35% from 3, and 83%
from the line. Serving as a team captain, he led his team to the SUNYAC conference tournament
both years.
In 2024, Wooden received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence and
was named an ESPN Billie Jean King Youth Leadership Award Recipient. In 2020, he received
the NAACP Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award for exemplary leadership, cultural competence,
and empathy and earned the Ricky J. Parisian Award (2020) for demonstrating respect, integrity,
honesty, and responsibility. Wooden was also recognized for his academic excellence throughout
his career on multiple occasions (e.g., Richard Siegfried Student Award, 4x PSAC
Scholar-Athlete, NABC Honors Court).
Wooden finished his varsity career at Oneonta HS where he amassed more than 1,200
points. He was a three-time Section IV All-Star and a four-time All-Conference honoree.
Wooden was also selected as third team All-State and Daily Star Player of the Year his senior
year
Wooden is certified as a personal trainer (NASM) and strength and conditioning
specialist (CSCS). He currently coaches Adapt Academy NY AAU teams based out of Oneonta.
He currently resides in Oneonta, NY with his wife, Mackenzie
