Primmer enters her first season with the Red Dragons this fall. Mara brings a wealth of knowledge from her soccer experiences across the globe as well as her expertise in strength and conditioning. She completed her undergraduate studies at St. Bonaventure University, in St. Bonaventure, New York earning a B.S. in Physical Education. Mara continued on to Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT, where she earned a M.S. in Exercise Physiology with a concentration in Human Performance.
Primmer played three years for the NCAA Division I St. Bonaventure Bonnies as an attacking midfielder and forward. She also played one year in the same roles for the NCAA Division II Southern Connecticut State Owls, earning a trip to the Northeast 10 Championship Tournament.
In addition to her collegiate playing career, Primmer has played for the Adirondack Lynx’s, a semi-professional team out of Albany and spent two plus years playing in South Western Germany within the Women’s Bundesliga for 1. FC Saarbrucken, SV Dirmingen, and SV Furpach. Primmer was originally brought in to SV Dirmingen as a goal scorer to help them avoid relegation. She helped them to secure a fourth place finish by the end of the season. She spent most of her time at SV Furpach as a starter and played all games as a defensive and distributing central midfielder. During her spell with SVF, she and her team successfully defended their indoor Pokal Master’s title twice along with being voted the top athletic team of both men and women in the greater Neunkirchen area twice after securing a second place finish in the Regionalliga.
Primmer will also be assisting the SUNY Oneonta women’s lacrosse team this year. Her role will primarily focus on the development of strength, speed and conditioning of the athletes along with recruiting.
Mara is a native of Oneonta, NY and attended the Oneonta City School District where she excelled as both a member of the varsity soccer and track teams. She is bilingual in English and German.
