Allecia Laing

Laing returns to her alma mater as an assistant coach this fall after having mined the net for the Red Dragons from 1996-1999.

Laing graduated from Oneonta in 2001 with a degree in Mathematics and completed her Masters in Special Education from Grand Canyon University in May of 2011. While at Oneonta she etched her name in the team's record books and still holds Oneonta's career records for saves (463), shutouts (39.5) and consecutive shutout minutes (968). She was also a four-time First Team All-SUNYAC player and three-time NSCAA All-Region player.

She is a 1996 graduate of Maine-Endwell High School where she played the sports of soccer, basketball and softball. In soccer, she was four-time All-State first team member and NSCAA All-East Region player for three years. She was also the 1993 Goalkeeper of the Year for Class B girls soccer.

Her post-collegiate soccer experience includes having spent five-years as the boys varsity soccer coach at Franklin Central School. She currently holds a National Goalkeeping Diploma from the NSCAA. She has been a coach of the Headwaters Soccer Club camps for children ages 7-17 since 1997 and been instrumental in revamping the goalkeeping portion of the camp series. Allecia and her husband, J.J., have been running a youth soccer program in Franklin, NY for the past fifteen years for students in grades 3-6. Ten years ago they started a Micro-soccer program for students in Pre-K through the 2nd grade. Together, they created and ran the first Speed and Agility camp for Franklin's athletes this past summer.
