Keith Thompson joins the SUNY Oneonta staff for the 2017-18 season, bringing with him over twenty years of coaching experience.
Most recently Coach Thompson was an Assistant Coach with the Men’s Basketball team at SUNY Oneonta during the 2014-2015 season.
Keith Thompson was a multi-sport athlete in college, competing on both the baseball diamond and the hard court for SUNY Delhi before transferring to Hartwick where he was a contributing member of the men’s basketball program. Coach Thompson was a member of the 1988 Hartwick College basketball team that won the Eastern Regional Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division III Final Four.
Coach Keith Thompson’s coaching experience includes eight years as an assistant coach at SUNY Oneonta along with ten years as an assistant at Hartwick College. Thompson also served as head coach at Morris High School for three years.
Thompson earned a degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Oneonta in 1999 with Cum Laude honors and went on to earn his Master’s degree from the University of New England in 2004. Coach Thompson has been employed by the Sherburne Earlville School District as an Elementary Science teacher for 19 years.
During the winter of 2012, Coach Thompson was inducted into the Section 4 Athletic Hall of Fame for his athletic accomplishments while attending Cherry Valley Central Schools.
Keith also volunteer his time coaching Spring Basketball with the Catskill Mountain AAU Girls program.
Keith is married to Daphne Thompson. They live in Morris, NY and have a daughter, Elizabeth.
