James Vogler

Jim Vogler will enter his sixth year as the faculty mentor for the SUNY Oneonta men’s and women’s cross country and track & field teams. Vogler is a professor in the college’s Biology department.
 
Vogler, a native of Boulder, Colorado, graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in wildlife biology. He went on to complete a master’s of science in botany at Iowa State University, where he met his wife, Donna.
 
Vogler joined the SUNY Oneonta biology department in 2002, teaching human anatomy and physiology. He has since taught a wide variety of courses, ranging from the physiology of exercise to woody plants. Vogler is also a scuba instructor for the physical education department, and a member of the volunteer dive team with the biological field station in Cooperstown. An avid runner himself, Vogler has competed in everything from 5Ks to the JFK 50 miler.
