Lance Ratchford

Ratchford, who is entering his fifth season with the baseball program, is a 2011 graduate of Keystone College in La Plume, Pa. and brings an accomplished athletic career as a baseball player at both Div. II Mansfield and Div. III Keystone.  While at Mansfield, he lettered three years while being a part of two teams that appeared in its conference tournament with one of those squads qualifying for the NCAA tournament.
 
Ratchford transferred to Keystone for his senior season and helped lead the Giants to its third straight Colonial State Athletic Conference championship and the NCAA Div. III World Series where the team finished 3rd in the eight team championship.  The Giants won the New York Regional tournament and Ratchford was named to the Regional All-Tournament Team.
 
Ratchford hit .339 in 42 games for the Giants in 2011.  He had 37 hits, scored 20 runs and drove in 13 runs.  He had a slugging percentage of .412 and an on-base percentage of .368.
 
Ratchford majored in Sport and Recreation Management with a minor in Business at Keystone.  He was named to the Colonial State Athletic Conference All-Academic team for his performance in the classroom.
 
During the summers of 2009 & 2010, Ratchford played for the Oriskany Blazers and Sherrill Silversmiths of the Eastern Collegiate Baseball League and the Oneonta Outlaws on the Major League Baseball affiliated New York Collegiate Baseball League.  In 2010, Ratchford started his summer with the Outlaws before returning to the Silversmiths to finish his season.  At the conclusion of both the 2009 and 2010 seasons, he was as an ECBL All-Star Team honorable mention.
 
During the summer of 2011, Ratchford interned with the New York Yankees Triple A affiliate, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees.  He worked as the Assistant to the Vice President for Stadium Operations.
 
Ratchford spent three summers of (2012-14) as an assistant coach with the Oneonta Outlaws of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.  In 2012, he was selected to coach in the Perfect Game Collegiate League All-Star game in Amsterdam, NY.  In 2013, the Outlaws won the NYCBL Championship.  In 2014, the Outlaws won the Divisional championship while finishing as the NYCBL runner-ups.
 
In February of 2015, Ratchford was named as an assistant coach for the Brewster Whitecaps of the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League.  In his first season, the Whitecaps led the league in hitting and he coached both the league’s MVP and the MLB Top Prospect Award Winner.  He also coached the 2015 Perfect Game Summer Baseball National Player of the Year along with the CCBL Reliever of the Year.  The Whitecaps finished with the league’s second best record and earned the No. 2 seed in the CCBL playoffs.
 
Since beginning his coaching career in 2012, Ratchford has coached 10 MLB draft picks.
 
Ratchford is the co-founder and General Manager of Triple Crown Baseball Factory in Oneonta, which is a year-round, indoor baseball facility for players of all ages and abilities.  He is also currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Sport Management at SUNY Cortland.
