Oneonta Wins Tri-Meet Against Delhi and Herkimer

ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Oneonta men's swimming & diving team turned in a commanding performance Tuesday evening at the Chase PE pool, sweeping both sides of the tri-meet against Delhi and Herkimer. The Red Dragons captured victories in nearly every event, showcasing substantial depth across all distances.

Oneonta opened with a decisive win in the 400 medley relay (3:54.00) thanks to junior Nick Rhodes (Rockville Centre, N.Y.), sophomore Bastian Dudley (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta), junior Cosmo Martinelli (Albany, NY/Albany), and senior Brendan Heaney (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks Central).

Sophomore Russell Cheng (Westchester, NY/Ardsley) (11:48.63) and freshman Brendan Kliment (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) (12:42.60) went 1–2 in the 1000 freestyle, while junior Gavin Weseman (Olean, NY/Olean) claimed the 200 freestyle (1:58.36).

Heaney added victories in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.58) and 200 IM (2:14.03), and fifth-year Maddox Aramini (Cooperstown, NY/Cherry Valley-Springfield) sprinted to wins in the 50 freestyle (23.35) and 100 freestyle (50.92).

Oneonta capped the meet with another relay victory in the 200 free relay (1:35.12) behind Rhodes, Weseman, junior Andrew Capella (Glenville, NY/Burnt-Hills-Ballston Lake), and Martinelli.

On the diving board, sophomore Ben Heyman (Glens Falls, NY/Glens Falls) took first in the one-meter dive with a score of 189.75.

The Red Dragons will return to action at the Electric City Invitational hosted by Marywood University from Nov. 21-23.
