Bailey was a standout, four-year player for the women's basketball team serving as a co-captain for the 1988-89 season. She was twice selected as a SUNYAC All-Conference player including a first-team nod as a senior. At the time of her graduation, Bailey was the program's all-time leading scorer with 953 points. She started 76-of-94 career games and still ranks among the all-time leaders in assists (309, 6
th), steals (229, 3
rd) and field goals made (383, 5
th) while collecting 441 rebounds.
Bailey graduated from Oneonta with a bachelors degree in Business Economics with a minor in Business Communications. She received a master of science degree in Counseling and Development from LIU-Post in 1997. In 2003, she received a specialist diploma from Queens College in School Administration.
Bailey spent her entire professional career working in education for the Connetquot School District beginning in 1997 as a Guidance Counselor at Ronkonkoma Junior High School. In 2004, she earned a promotion to Assistant Principal at Ronkonkoma Middle School. Bailey earned her final promotion to Principal of Oakdale-Bohemia Middle School where she spent the final 15 years of her career retiring in 2022.
