The SUNY Oneonta athletics department is pleased to announce the 2024 class of Hall of Fame Inductees. The 24
th class will be enshrined as part of Alumni Weekend on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:00am in the Otsego Grille located in the lower level of the Morris Conference Center. The event is free and open to the public.

This year's class includes eight former student athletes bringing the total number of individuals to 173 including 17 Honorary Inductees. The Hall of Fame also includes eight Teams of Distinction.

This year's class of honorees is Sue Bailey '89 (Basketball), Brooke Davis Trotta '05 (Soccer), Meghan Donnelly '05 (Field Hockey), Elizabeth Muller Busta '03 (Tennis), Kaitlin O'Sullivan '08 (Cross Country/Track & Field), Rubin Prophete '03 (Wrestling), Chris James Thornhill '93 (Lacrosse) and Ronald M. Tulloch '62 (Soccer, Baseball).

Bailey was a four-year standout player for the women's basketball team serving as a co-captain for the 1988-89 season. She was twice selected as a SUNYAC All-Conference player including a first-team nod as a senior. At the time of her graduation, Bailey was the program's all-time leading scorer with 953 points. She started 76-of-94 career games and still ranks among the all-time leaders in assists (309, 6
th), steals (229, 3
rd) and field goals made (383, 5
th) while collecting 441 rebounds.

Bailey graduated from Oneonta with a bachelor's degree in Business Economics while minoring in Business Communications. She received a master of science degree in Counseling and Development from LIU-Post in 1997. In 2003, she received a specialist diploma from Queens College in School Administration.

Bailey spent her entire professional career working in education for the Connetquot School District beginning in 1997 as a Guidance Counselor at Ronkonkoma Junior High School. In 2004, she earned a promotion to Assistant Principal at Ronkonkoma Middle School. Bailey earned her final promotion to Principal of Oakdale-Bohemia Middle School where she spent the final 15 years of her career retiring in 2022.

Davis Trotta was a three-year starter for the women's soccer team during her four-year career that spanned 2001-2004. She is arguably one of the greatest offensive players in the history of the program.

Davis Trotta's career was highlighted with her selection as the Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the 2003 NCAA Division III tournament in which Oneonta won the national title on its home field in dramatic fashion. During Oneonta's magical run enroute to the title, she scored three of the biggest goals in program history.

During her career, Davis Trotta was a two-time All-SUNYAC selection along with being named NSCAA All-Region and All-State once. She finished her stellar four-year run with 38 goals and 22 assists for 98 points. Her goals and assists are both currently fourth all-time while she sits third all-time in points.

Davis Trotta completed her degree from Oneonta in Childhood Education in 2005 before earning a master's degree in Literacy from Russell Sage College in 2007. She has spent her entire professional career as a first-grade teacher in the Shenendehowa Central Schools.

Donnelly was a four-year starting defender for the field hockey team from 2001-04.  During her four seasons, she was a three-time, first team All-SUNYAC selection including being selected as the conference Player of the Year in 2004. She was selected twice as an All-Region performer and was a third team NFHCA National All-American as a senior.

During Donnelly's four seasons, the Red Dragons made two appearances in both the NYSWCAA and ECAC tournaments. In 2004 the team won the NYSWCAA tournament, and she was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Donnelly started every game as a Red Dragon and posted one goal and 12 assists while collecting 10 defensive saves.

Graduating in 2005 with a bachelor of science degree, Donnelly continued her education and earned a master of science degree from Canisius in 2007. She recently attained a Master of Healthcare Administration from Colorado State University in 2022 and she is currently working toward a Doctorate in Education at Hamline University with an anticipated graduation in 2025.

Donnelly has held various positions during her professional career and currently is the Program Manager for Adolescent Health Fellowship in the School of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. Prior to her current position, she was the Director of Admissions at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law.

Muller Busta was the top women's tennis player during her career with the Red Dragons from 1998 to 2002. She was a starter from the outset of her rookie season and never relinquished her position in the top half of the lineup. She served as team Captain for three years and graduated as the all-time combined wins leader.

Muller Busta was a four-time SUNYAC finalist and two-time champion in singles. In her first campaign in 1998, she captured the conference title at 3
rd singles and followed the next year as champion at fourth singles. In 2000, she helped lead the women's team to a second-place finish at the SUNYAC tournament, which was the best finish ever to that point for the women's program.

Muller Busta's final career record was 47-25 in singles and 37-30 as a doubles player. She was twice selected as the team Most Valuable Player and, in 2002, reached the round of 16 at the ITA/Rolex Regional Tournament.

Muller Busta graduated in 2003 with a bachelor of science degree in Human Ecology with a concentration in Child & Family Studies. Post-graduation, she worked in a variety of group homes before transitioning into the accounting field. She worked at the Duke Clinical Research Institute for seven years prior to relocating to Ohio where she now works and lives with her husband and three daughters. Her current position is with Nationwide in procurement working as an on-boarder for suppliers in a software platform that she helped lead to implement when she was in the accounts payable area of the company.

O'Sullivan is arguably one of the greatest cross country and track & field athletes in the history of Oneonta. The honors and accolades earned during her brilliant four-year career put her on a short list of all-time greats.

In the sport of cross country, O'Sullivan was the team's top runner earning SUNYAC All-Conference honors twice. As a senior, she became the first female runner in program history to earn SUNYAC Cross Country Hall of Fame status after her third-place finish at the conference championship meet. She was a two-time All-Region performer including being the first Oneonta runner to do so. In 2006, O'Sullivan became only the second woman to qualify for the NCAA championship as an individual.

In the sports of indoor and outdoor track & field, O'Sullivan was a four-time All-American, four-time ECAC and nine-time SUNYAC champion as an individual and as part of relays. She was national runner-up in the 800 meters at the 2006 NCAA outdoor and 2007 indoor national championships. Her performance at the 2007 SUNYAC indoor and outdoor championships earned her the Most Outstanding Track Athlete. In 2007, she was selected as the USTFCCCA Atlantic Region Indoor Track Athlete of the Year.

O'Sullivan currently still holds the indoor program records for the 500, 1000 and mile events. Her time of 2:52.26 in the 1000 still stands as the SUNYAC record. She still holds the program mark of 11:04.08 in the outdoor 3000-meter steeplechase.

O'Sullivan also exceled in the classroom earning USTFCCCA Scholar Athlete accolades and CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 honors. Her athletic career culminated with her selection as the Oneonta Female Athlete of the Year in 2006-07.

O'Sullivan graduated as a double-major in Communications and French Languages and Literature. Her professional highlights include being the Manager of Special Events for the Boston Athletic Association from 2016-18. She currently works as a Marketing and Operations Manager for Luxury Real Estate team in Boston's north shore.

O'Sullivan continues to compete nationally and was a qualifier for the U.S. Championships in 2009 for both the indoor mile and the 15k road event. She narrowly missed out on qualifying for the U.S. Olympic trials in 2016 with a goal to make the trials.

Prophete had an outstanding career on the mat in helping to lead the Red Dragons from 1996-2001. During his career, he compiled an overall record of 61-40 while qualifying for the NCAA Division III national tournament twice earning All-American honors in his final season of 2001.

In his second season, Prophete captured the ECWC title at 118 pounds while being selected as the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament. That season, Prophete also qualified for the NCAA tournament for the first time. Prophete's second trip to the NCAA came at the conclusion of his final season in 2001.

After graduating in 2003 with a bachelor of science in French, Prophete has spent his professional career working with kids who have mental and emotional challenges. He currently works as a co-teacher in Autism support within the Wilkes-Barre (PA) area school district.

Additionally, Prophete has been involved in the sport of wrestling as a competitor and coach. He placed multiple times in the top 5 in both Greco and Freestyle at the Empire State Games. As a coach, he has coached multiple collegiate All-Americans and two NCAA finalists while coaching multiple High School place-finishers. He is currently coaching the new girls wrestling program in his school district.

Thornhill was the leading attackman for the Red Dragons during his four seasons that spanned 1985-88. He was a four-year starter and never missed a game enroute to leaving the program as the all-time leading scorer. He is still in the top-5 all-time in career points and assists.

A career highlight for Thornhill included posting a still program record 14 points on Mar. 19, 1988 versus Merchant Marine. That season he was team captain, led the squad in scoring with 66 points and was the team MVP.

Thornhill completed his degree in 1993 majoring in Sociology. He has spent his professional career in the glass industry working his way through management. He started in 1995 as a Production Manager at Coastal Glass Distributors in Charleston S.C. and is currently employed at Galaxy Glass as a Senior Account Executive. In his current role, he has been involved in numerous high-profile projects in New York City including the Empire State Building and Freedom Tower.

Thornhill has never stopped playing lacrosse and has continued his post-collegiate athletic career with multiple clubs. He has been playing for the New Jersey Reapers since 2010 where the club has posted multiple masters championships including the 2023 Ultra Grand Masters Division National Championship.

In the early years of renaissance of athletics at Oneonta, Tulloch was a standout leader for both the soccer and baseball teams. He spent four years on the pitch and three springs on the diamond during his athletic career.

From the fall of 1958 to 1961, Tulloch led the Red Dragons to four winning seasons including an unbeaten record of 7-0-1 during his rookie season. Oneonta ended up winning nearly 75 percent of its games during his career putting together a mark of 25-8-2. For his career, Tulloch played in 33 of 35 matches accumulating 44 points on 20 goals and four assists for an average of 1.3 points per match. Tulloch served as a Co-Captain for the 1959 season.

On the diamond, Tulloch was a starting player mostly in the outfield. He served as a Co-Captain for the 1961 Red Dragons. During his three-year career, Oneonta put together a 25-7 record overall including an 11-4 mark in 1960.

Tulloch was truly involved in campus life as an undergraduate serving on various student committees including the Men's Athletic Association. Tulloch was a member of Delta Phi Kappa fraternity serving as President during his senior year. Tulloch's undergraduate career was highlighted with his selection as the first Male Athlete of the Year in the history of the athletics department.

As an Education major, Tulloch spent his 33-year professional career developing policy and teaching in the area of special education serving on task forces that helped shape the policies that are now standard and required in special education nationally.

Tulloch served on the SUNY Oneonta Foundation Board from 2005-09 earning recognition for his commitment and volunteer leadership.
