NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- The SUNY Oneonta women's basketball team came up short to SUNY Cortland in the SUNYAC semifinals, 66-43 at New Paltz, Friday evening. Senior
Olivia Dobrovosky (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) had the team-high nine points with four rebounds and three assists. Oneonta concluded the season with an overall record of 19-8.

Clara Culeton (Oswego/Oswego) scored the first basket of the game, then Cortland's Emily Morano recorded the next eight points. At 6:07, senior
Meg Nardelli (Wappingers Falls/Roy C. Ketcham) hit a triple to make it 7-11, however Cortland closed out the quarter with a 14-4 run. Fiona Mullen had a couple three-pointers and Logan Streety had a couple fastbreak layups during the stretch, while Oneonta's baskets came from Nardelli and sophomore
Amanda Zuntag (Staten Island/Notre Dame Academy), as they went into the second down 11-25.

Caitlin Mullin (Rockaway Beach/Xaverian) knocked down a three from the wing and junior
Jenna Harclerode (Sayville/Sayville) hit a jump shot, off a dish by Nardelli, but Cortland kept their double-digit lead. After graduate student
Megan Palmatier (Bainbridge/Bainbridge-Guilford) made a layup at 3:16, Cortland held Oneonta scoreless for the remainder of the half and built a 37-18 advantage.
After Maggie Malone extended Cortland's lead to 21 at 8:21, Oneonta began to chip away at the deficit. Nardelli hit a pair at the line then Culeton and Harclerode each hit a jumper. Dobrovosky made a basket then split a pair at the line before Zuntag made across paint layup at 4:15 to narrow the gap to 12, 29-41. Oneonta kept it within a dozen until the final 90 seconds of the third, where Cortland got back to a 16-point lead, 49-33. Â
Malone and Harclerode traded baskets in the beginning of the fourth then Cortland worked the ball and hit a few shots from deep to increase their lead to 23 with 3:32 remaining. During the final few minutes, sophomore
Sophia Wakin (Delhi/Delaware Academy) scored four of Oneonta's last eight points, while Dobrovosky and Zuntag both had two.
Nardelli had seven points with two assists. Culeton, Harclerode, and Zuntag each had six points, Culeton recorded seven rebounds with three blocks, and Harclerode finished with nine rebounds. Â
Morano finished with 20 points for Cortland and Mullen had 17 off the bench.
Oneonta shot 28.8 percent from the field and recorded 34 rebounds. Cortland finished 35.9 percent from the floor and brought in 44 rebounds.
