BABSON PARK, MA. -- Babson College went 12-for-20 from three-point range to beat the SUNY Oneonta women's basketball team, 82-35, on the final day of the Judy Pearson '85 Memorial Tournament, Saturday afternoon. The Red Dragons dropped to 2-7 overall while the Beavers improved to 5-6 on the season.

Babson scored all their points in the first quarter from beyond the arc to build an 18-8 lead. Freshman Megan Desrats (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) kicked it out to sophomore Emma Schwarzbeck (Wallkill, NY/Wallkill Senior High School) for a three-pointer then senior Jenna Harclerode (Sayville, NY/Sayville) found junior Amanda Zuntag (Staten Island, NY/Notre Dame Academy) down low to cut the deficit to 20-13 with 7:35 left in the half. The Beavers then went on a 9-0 run that was stopped by junior Sophia Wakin (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) with a turnaround jumper at 3:05. The Red Dragons closed out the half trailing 38-22 after senior Molly Stephens (LaGrange, NY/Arlington) drove in for a layup, Schwarzbeck converted two at the line, and junior Alana Batson (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) knocked down a corner three.

Babson started the second half with a 17-0 run that ended when Batson drilled a deep triple for Oneonta at 4:17. On the next possession, Wakin received the ball from junior Nadia Brown (Troy, NY/Troy) in the paint for a basket, but the Beavers ended the quarter on a 9-0 run to go ahead 64-27.

Freshmen Carlie Young (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville Central) and Angelena Giuliano (Troy, NY/Catholic Central/Troy) each made a three-pointer and Wakin had a putback in the fourth quarter as Babson held onto the win.

Batson, Brown, and Wakin all recorded the team-high six points, Wakin led the team with six rebounds and Brown finished with five.

The Beavers shot 50.8 percent from the field and held a 41-27 advantage on the glass.
