New Paltz, NY - The SUNY Oneonta men's swimming and diving team ended its dual-meet season today with a 149-112 loss at New Paltz.
Some notable results though for the Red Dragons as freshman
Mason DeLisio (Kingston/Kingston) had a win in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle timing in at 22.92 and 50.70 respectively. Senior
Derek Luhrs (Cornwall/Cornwall Central) took top honors in the 50-yard backstroke timing in at 27.18 seconds just over 14-seconds ahead of the New Paltz trailer. Freshman
Jonathan Stanzione (East Islip/East Islip) scored a win in the 50-yard breaststroke touching the wall at 29.79 only .18 seconds ahead of the runner-up from New Paltz.
The 100-yard butterfly had a Red Dragon win when sophomore
Kyle Copper (Canandaigua/Marcus Whitman) took top-honors recording a time of 53.68 in the 100-yard butterfly more than three-seconds ahead of the New Paltz second-place finisher. Rounding out the day for Oneonta was a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay when sophomore
Ross Caimano (Queensbury/Queensbury), sophomore
Eli Cohen (Schoharie/East Lake (Fla)), Copper and DeLisio recorded a triumph and a time of 3:22.38 more than four-seconds ahead of the New Paltz relay team.
Next up for the Red Dragon men is the season ending SUNYAC championship that begins on Wednesday, February 15th at Erie County Community College in Buffalo, NY.
