ONEONTA, N.Y. -Â Sophomores James Llewellyn (Great River, NY/East Islip) and Mason DeLisio (Kingston, NY/Kingston) each recorded two first-place victories in Saturday's dual meet as Oneonta fell 191-96 at Hartwick. Llewellyn won the 100 and 200-backstroke, while DeLisio took first in the 50 and 100-freestyle events.Â
The Red Dragons opened with a second-place 200-medley relay comprised of Llewellyn, Ross Caimano (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury), Kyle Copper (Canandaigua, NY/Marcus Whitman), and Delisio. Hartwick edged Oneonta by one second as the Red Dragons finished at 1:41.06. Sophomore Jonathan Stanzione (East Islip, NY/East Islip) swam a personal best of 11:16.93 to place fourth in the 1,000-freestyle, and first-year Brendan Heaney (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks Central) earned a personal record of 2:03.21 in the 200-freestyle for fourth place.Â
Llewellyn swam a season-best 57.26 in the 100-backstroke and bested the second-place Hartwick swimmer by two seconds. Caimano was the top Red Dragon in the 100-breaststroke at 1:05.87, which was good for third place. Copper went on to take second in the 200-fly after swimming a season-best 2:00.69. Oneonta had two swimmers in the top three of the 50-freestyle, with DeLisio winning with a season-fast 22.09. Sophomore Eli Cohen (Schoharie, NY/East Lake (Fla)) took third with a time of 23.21.Â
DeLisio followed up with another first-place in the 100-freestyle and finished at 49.21. Copper placed second with a personal record of 50.02. Junior Daniel Oh (Huntington, NY/Harborfields) and Cohen were neck-and-neck and went fourth and fifth, respectively. Oh swam a 51.01, while Cohen finished at 51.04. Llewellyn picked up his second victory in the 200-backstroke with a season-fast 2:09.31, and then Stanzione grabbed a second-place finish in the 200-breaststroke at 2:27.05.Â
In the 100-fly, Oh swam a 55.35 for second place. Llewellyn and Stanzione went second and third in the 200-IM. Llewellyn touched at 2:10.20, while Stanzione was at 2:16.98.Â
The Red Dragons closed out the swimming events with a first-place 200-freestyle relay. Cohen, Copper, Oh, and DeLision won with a time of 1:29.19.Â
Oneonta next competes at the Diamond City Invitational in Wilkes-Barre, PA, from Nov. 18-20.Â
