Women's soccer earns tie at Brockport

A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta women's soccer team came away with a 1-1 draw at Brockport today to earn one point for its opening weekend of SUNYAC play.  Yesterday, the Red Dragons (0-5-1/0-1-1 SUNYAC) were nipped by Geneseo.

The Inside Story
Trailing 1-0 late in the second half, sophomore Ashley Wilber (Niskayuna/Nickayuna) tied the match in the 75th minute off an assist by classmate Leighann Perciballi (Northport/Kings Park).  The goal for Wilber was the first of her collegiate career.

The Red Dragons managed one scoring opportunity in the extra sessions, which was a header by Jianna Chapman (Washingtonville/Washingtonville) that went high.

Brockport scored its goal in the 30th minute, as Julia Mascaro knocked one home off an assist by Sydnee Smith.

In Yesterday's match at Geneseo, despite being outshot 18-7, Oneonta's back line held the Knights to a single goal in a 1-0 loss.  Geneseo's goal came in the 71st minute.

Just the Stats
Senior goalkeeper Claire Lepper (Poland/Poland) combined to make 13 saves during the two contests including eight this afternoon against the Golden Eagles.
