A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta women's soccer team closed out the season with a 3-0 win over Hartwick College. The Red Dragons closed out the season 3-11-1 overall, while the Hawks moved to 6-4-4.
 
The Inside Story
Oneonta had Hartwick on their heels from the opening whistle, recording three corner kicks and a shot attempt in the first 16 minutes. In the 22^nd minute, junior defenseman Robin Confer (Chenango Forks/Chenango Forks) passed the ball to senior defenseman Morgan Creeden (Washingtonville/Washingtonville) to score the first goal. Creeden got past a Hartwick defender and headed Confer's pass in the net, just before Hawks' goalie Sara Staup could grab it.  
 
Freshman defenseman Kayla Schwizer (Lynbrook/Lynbrook) kept the momentum going before halftime, scoring Oneonta's second goal off sophomore midfielder Leighann Perciballi's (Northport/Kings Park) corner kick. Initially Schwizer's goal was ruled saved by a Hartwick defender, however shortly after the call the officials talked to one another and overturned the ruling.
 
The Red Dragons scored their final goal in the 64^th minute. Junior forward Emma Kirkpatrick (Wading River/Shoreham Wading River) got past a couple Hawks defenders down the left side of the field to a ball that came from junior forward Abbey Wood (Dover Plains/Dover Plains). Kirkpatrick dribbled the ball about 35 yards before shooting the ball to the right side of the goal.
 
Just the Stats
Oneonta finished the game with a 10-6 advantage on shots and had four corner kicks to Hartwick's one.
 
Senior goalie Claire Lepper (Poland/Poland) saved the only shot she faced, while Staup had four saves.
