The SUNY Oneonta baseball team wrapped up the regular season with a convincing 10-0 victory over SUNY Poly Thursday afternoon at Damaschke Field.

Oneonta (17-18) got on the board in the bottom of the first when
John Zinko (Wallkill/Wallkill) nearly missed a home run with an RBI double off the top of the left field fence, scoring
Dominic Lamonica (Stony Brook/Ward Melville) to make it 1-0. The Red Dragons added to their lead with three runs in the bottom of the second. After
Patrick McGee (Mahopac/Mahopac) got the inning started with a walk and a stolen base,
Sean McGlynn (New Hartford/New Hartford) drove him home with a single to center. With two runners in scoring position,
David Deberardinis (Fishkill/John Jay) hit a two-run single up the middle to give Oneonta a 4-0 advantage.
Oneonta put the game out of reach with three more runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Mickey Mullins (Vestal/Vestal) got the inning started with a double to right center. With runners on the corners after a

Oneonta tallied their eighth run in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI groundout by
Sean McGlynn (New Hartford/New Hartford), plating
Mike Graves (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central) from third. The Red Dragons added two more in bottom of the eighth inning. The first run came on an RBI groundout by
Vincent Prisco (Northport/Saint Dominic), with the final coming on a balk, allowing
Robert Ottaviano (Nanuet/Albertus Magnus) to trot home from third.
Mickey Mullins (Vestal/Vestal) paced the Oneonta offense with a 3-for-5 day with three runs scored.
James Zupo (Massapequa/Massapequa) and
David Deberardinis (Fishkill/John Jay) each had a pair of hits and two RBI while
Mike Graves (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central) went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Steven Gerringer (LaGrangeville/Arlington) earned the win after tossing the first five innings of the game, striking out four Wildcats while scattering four hits.
Ryan Steeg (Thornwood/Byram Hills) and
Joseph Canonaco (Briarcliff Manor/Briarcliff) each threw a scoreless inning in relief while
Ryan Fay (Carmel/Carmel) got the final six outs without allowing a hit.
