A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta baseball team fell to Fredonia 9-2 in SUNYAC action Sunday morning at historic Henley Field in Lakeland, Florida. The loss drops Oneonta's record to 5-7 overall and 0-3 in the SUNAYC.
The Inside Story
Fredonia led the whole game, putting three runs on the board in third and fourth innings to take a commanding 6-0 lead. The Red Dragons showed some life in the bottom of the fifth when they scored a pair of runs. Oneonta started the inning with three straight singles by John Zupo
Mickey Mullins (Vestal/Vestal) and
David Deberardinis (Fishkill/John Jay).
Dominic Lamonica (Stony Brook/Ward Melville) plated Zupo with a sacrifice fly before
Mickey Mullins (Vestal/Vestal) stole home to make the score 6-2. The Blue Devils put the game out of reach with two runs in the six and a run in the eighth to make the final score 9-2.
David Deberardinis (Fishkill/John Jay) led the Red Dragons with a 2-for-4 day with a double.
Patrick McGee (Mahopac/Mahopac) also had a double while
Mickey Mullins (Vestal/Vestal) stole two more bases.

The Red Dragons return to SUNYAC action on Friday, March 15
th when they host Brockport at 3:00 p.m.
