Oswego, NY - - In their first dual meet of the season, the SUNY Oneonta men's swimming and diving squad were bested by their SUNYAC foes from Oswego with a combined score of 148-92.
Some notable finishes for the Red Dragons happened in the opening contest in the 200 yard medley relay as the team of sophomore
Derek Luhrs (Cornwall/Cornwall Central), senior
Douglas Alliano (Massapequa/Massapequa), senior
Harrison Abrams (Fort Plain/Fort Plain) and sophomore
William Coddington (Highland Mills/Monroe-Woodbury) took the runner-up spot with a time of 1:44.58 just under five-seconds behind the Oswego pace setters.  Coddington was also a runner-up in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 22.30 just under two-seconds behind the Oswego racer. Coddington then took another runner-up position in the 100 yard butterfly only .32 seconds behind the Oswego winner. Abrams was also a runner-up in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 59.77 under three-seconds back of the Oswego victor.
Another highlight for the Red Dragon men was in the 1000 yard freestyle as senior
Scott Richardson (Canandaigua/Canandaigua Academy) turned in a runner-up performance with a time of 10:40.48 just over seven-seconds behind the Oswego victor. Â Richardson also took the second place finish only .32 behind the Oswego victor in the 100 yard butterfly. Â In the 200 yard freestyle junior
Christopher Costanzo (Staten Island/Susan E. Wagner) was a notable runner-up scoring a time of 1:51.94 just under one-second behind the Oswego winner.Â
An exciting race occurred in the 200 yard individual medley when junior
Daniel Kohler (Nanuet/Nanuet) took the runner-up spot just under two-seconds behind the event champion from the Lakers.
