The visiting rival Red Dragons from SUNY Cortland scored the game's only goal about midway through the opening half and held on to defeat SUNY Oneonta in women's soccer action today in Oneonta. The loss for Oneonta dropped them to 5-4-3 overall and 3-2 in the SUNYAC while Cortland leaves town 7-5-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference.

The Inside Story
Oneonta pressured early and got the Cortland defense on its heels. Oneonta generated four shots and earned two corner kicks in the first 18 minutes of play.

On its first scoring opportunity of the game, sophomore Jaden Galluzzo was able to beat the Oneonta defense to a ball that was sent forward by Nina Dinardo. Galluzzo then dodged a charging Oneonta keeper before moving the ball to her left foot to complete the play with a shot to the back of the goal.

Oneonta was outshot by Cortland in the match 14-7. Oneonta did earn eight corner kicks while only surrendering two. Lepper finished with seven saves while Danika Svendsen mad a pair of saves for Cortland.
