Women's soccer clipped by rival Cortland

A Quick Look

The Inside Story
Oneonta pressured early and got the Cortland defense on its heels.  Oneonta generated four shots and earned two corner kicks in the first 18 minutes of play.

On its first scoring opportunity of the game, sophomore Jaden Galluzzo was able to beat the Oneonta defense to a ball that was sent forward by Nina Dinardo.  Galluzzo then dodged a charging Oneonta keeper before moving the ball to her left foot to complete the play with a shot to the back of the goal.

The momentum shifted in the second half to the visitors who continued to generate scoring chances.  In the 54th minute, Oneonta keeper Claire Lepper (Poland/Poland) made a diving right-handed stop on a shot by Galluzzo.  Fourteen minutes later, freshman Avery Bennett (Hurley/Kingston) took a shot off the goal line on another Galluzzo attempt.
