Olivia Allrich (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) scored 17 points to lead three players in double figures tonight, as the SUNY Oneonta women's basketball team easily defeated the Salem State Vikings 66-46 at Williams College. Oneonta (2-0) will complete its weekend set tomorrow with a game against the hosts at 3pm.

The Red Dragons put this one away early jumping out to a 37-12 lead at halftime. Oneonta outscored Salem (0-3) 19-4 in the second quarter to push its lead to 25 points heading into the break. After being tied 2-2, Oneonta put together an 11-1 run to grab a 10-point lead with just over four minutes remaining in the opening quarter.

The Red Dragons continued to pour it on during the second quarter scoring ten unanswered points to start the quarter. Allrich scored four points during the burst while senior
Teresa Anken (Rome/Rome Free Academy) and junior
Alexa Amalbert (Nanuet/Nanuet) each made a three-pointer. Amalbert finished the game with 11 points.

The game was well in hand midway through the third quarter despite being outscored by the Vikings 18-12. Oneonta bounced back in the final quarter edging out Salem 17-16 to secure victory.

Oneonta collected 56 rebounds in the contest including 17 on the offensive end. Senior
Madeline Frank (Syracuse/Jamesville-Dewitt) led all players with 14 rebounds to go with her 11 points.

The Red Dragons shot nearly 44 percent from the floor for the game including 7-of-19 from behind the arc.
