The Red Dragons first stop of their spring trip started with a 9-inning game at Scotland Yard on Maryville College's campus as they took on the Maryville Scots. The Red Dragons were within two runs the entire game until three errors in the seventh and eighth inning allowed the Scots to pull away and win 6-1.
The lone run for the Red Dragons came in the sixth inning when junior
Chris Saitch (Kingston/Kingston) singled to the left side with one out. The next batter, junior
Vincent Prisco (Northport/Saint Dominic) singled to right field allowing Saitch to advance to third base. Senior
Sage Cheren (Bronx/Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy) drove in Saitch with a sacrifice fly ball to right field.

Dalton Beatty (Atwater/Atwater) went 2 for 4 on the day for the Red Dragons batting out in the two hole.

Thomas Bond (Somers/North Salem) pitched two innings in relief, striking out two batters and allowing no runs. Classmate
Nicholas Ponesse (Newburgh/Valley Central) came in relief of Bond in the 4
th to pitching two innings, and allowing no earned runs.
The Red Dragons continue their spring trip as they travel down to Auburndale, Florida to take on Cazenovia College in a double-header at Lake Myrtle Park Thursday (3/9) starting at 1:00pm. Â Â Â
