Sophomore Leanne Corso (Commack/Commack) scored a team high 18 points and junior Madeline Frank (Syracuse/Jamesville-Dewitt) scored 10 points and grabbed a game high 14 rebounds to lead the SUNY Oneonta women's basketball team to a 75-59 win against Vassar College in the championship game of the Vassar Tip-Off.  Corso was named Tournament MVP while Frank was selected to the All-Tournament Team.
 
Oneonta (2-0) took it to the Brewers from the opening tip jumping out to a 21-15 lead at the end of the first quarter.  The Red Dragons made eight of its 13 shots from the field including 3-of-5 from behind the arc.  Oneonta added 14 points in the second quarter to grab a 35-25 halftime lead.
 
The Red Dragons cranked it up again in the third quarter making 11 of 19 shots en route to a 25-point quarter to build its lead to 60-39 entering the fourth quarter.
 
Oneonta's points came in close scoring 32 points in the paint.  They turned 13 offensive rebounds into 17 second chance points.  The Red Dragons also converted 13 Vassar turnovers into 17 points.
 
Freshman Maya Bernsley (Monroe/Monroe Woodbury) reached double figures for the first time of her career scoring 10 points in 11 minutes off the bench.  Junior Teresa Anken (Rome/Rome Free Academy) and sophomore Alexa Amalbert (Nanuet/Nanuet) each scored 10 points in today's game as well.
 
The women will play its home opener this coming Tuesday night against Utica beginning at 6pm.
