Oswego, NY - The SUNY Oneonta men's swimming and diving team opened up the 2017-18 dual meet campaign with a tough loss to its SUNYAC foe Oswego by a score of 139-92. Even with the loss, the Red Dragons had a few notable events.
The first win of the afternoon came in the 100 yard butterfly when freshman
Anthony Porto (Hillsdale/Taconic Hills) got his first career victory with a time of 55.14 and the runner-up was his teammate sophomore
Scott Richardson (Canandaigua/Canandaigua Academy) turning a time of 56.15. Another notable result was freshman William Coddington getting his first career Red Dragon victory turning in a time of 49.67 in the 100 yard freestyle just .10 seconds ahead of the Oswego runner-up.
The men's swimming and diving team prepare for a meet against The College of St. Rose on Saturday, November 4th beginning at 1 PM. That event will take place at RPI.
