A tale of two halves today for the SUNY Oneonta women's basketball team who overcame a 29-18 halftime deficit to defeat rival SUNY Cortland 59-47. Oneonta (7-6, 4-2 SUNYAC) shot 52 percent in the second half including hitting 9-of-13 from behind the arc, as they outscored Cortland (5-7, 4-2 SUNYAC) 41-18.

Senior
Cara Adams (Attleboro, MA/Bishop Feehan), who scored a career high 23 points last night while breaking the three-point record, paced Oneonta with 19 points that included five more threes to bring her career total to 177.

The freshman pair of
Alexa Amalbert (Nanuet/Nanuet) and
Leanne Corso (Commack/Commack) scored 13 points and 10 points respectively. Corso scored all of her points during the second half comeback while also collecting a game high 13 rebounds for her second double double of her rookie season.

Trailing 32-22 midway through the third period, Oneonta seized control of the game with a 15-3 burst to end the period and grab a 37-35 lead heading into the final period. Senior
Kathryn Polletta (Ossining/Ossining) came off the bench and buried a pair of threes to help fuel the run. Polletta would make a third trey in the fourth period to finish with nine points.

Oneonta extended its lead with another run of 11-3 in the first four minutes of the fourth period. Cortland tried to make a run, but Oneonta wouldn't let its rival back in.

Oneonta will return to action next Saturday at home when they host New Paltz in the Dewar Arena beginning at 4pm.
