On senior day for SUNY Oneonta baseball, the Red Dragons dropped both games of its season ending doubleheader to No. 10 Oswego by scores of 4-0 and game two 9-2. The Red Dragons in game one strung together six hits, but could not execute with runners in scoring position. In game two, the Red Dragons left six runners on base and scored two runs off of great pitching by Oswego's Tim Cronin.
In game one, senior
John Sica (Albany/Bishop Maginn) pitched 5.0 innings allowing three earned runs while striking out two batters. Senior
Casey Kerdesky (Cornwall/Cornwall) and junior
Casy Kies (Apalachin/Vestal) would each have two hits for the Red Dragons. Brian Nolan of Oswego threw all 7 innings without allowing a run, and striking out six.
In game two, the Red Dragons fell behind early 2-0 before pushing their first run across in the bottom of the 2
nd inning. With junior
Sean Mullins (Vestal/Vestal) on second base,
Michael Grudzinski (Islip/Islip) pulled a ball down the left field line to score Mullins for the Red Dragons first run of the game. The Lakers would score six runs in the top of the 3
rd inning to put the score out of the reach of the Red Dragons and go on to win 9-2.
Sage Cheren (Bronx, NY/Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy) had two hits and one RBI for Oneonta.
