The SUNY Oneonta softball team scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning in game two of its doubleheader today at Muhlenberg to complete the sweep of the Mules. The Red Dragons took advantage of an error by the Mules that led to the eventual winning run in a 4-3 win.

Sophomore
Cori McFall (Pleasant Valley/Arlington) led off the seventh inning with a single and was then pinch run for by junior
Killeen Martin (Bay Shore/Bay Shore), who was then sacrificed to second base by
Alyssa Garrison (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa). Martin then moved over to third on a ground out to second base by
Marlene Cuevas (Wappingers Falls/Roy C. Ketcham). After a walk to
Ashley Lefebvre (Waterford/Waterford-Halfmoon), Martin scored on an infield single by
Selena Ruiz (Westbury/W.T. Clarke). Lefebvre came around to score on an error by the second baseman.

Winning pitcher,
Kate Wood (Suffern/Suffern), retired the Mules in order in the bottom of the seventh. Wood went the distance to record her third win of the season. She allowed six hits and struck out one.

Senior
Jamie Whittam (Saugerties/Saugerties) had two hits and drove in a pair of runs to lead Oneonta (8-5).

In the first game today, Oneonta scored a pair in the first inning and added four runs in the sixth inning en route to a 6-2 win. Lefebvre had three hits in the game and scored two runs. Amanda Garrison pitched a three-hitter in picking up her third win of the season.

Oneonta will travel to Ramapo on Thursday for a doubleheader beginning at 3pm.
