Oneonta, NY  - The SUNY Oneonta men's  swimming & diving team had its home opener today and scored a close five point 124-119 triumph against their SUNY rival the Oswego Lakers.
The day began for the men when senior
Greg Fothergill (Lindenhurst/Lindenhurst Senior), junior
Zeke Brynin (Pleasantville/Pleasantville), freshman
Scott Richardson (Canandaigua/Canandaigua Academy ) and senior
Conor Kelly (Staten Island/Saint Peter's) scored a win in the 200 yard medley with a time of 1:43.28 just 1/10 of a second ahead of the Oswego runner-ups.  Brynin then came back and found a win in the 200 yard individual medley just ahead of Fothergill with less than two seconds seperating the pair. Brynin also had a win in the 100 yard breaststroke scoring a 1:01.61 time which was the last event of the afternoon for the men.
Kelly would not be outdone by his teammates as he scored an impressive win in the 100 yard freestyle touching the wall with a time of 50.02. Fothergill was successful as he got back to the winners circle timing in at 58.40 in the 100 yard breaststroke.
The Red Dragon men will be back in action on Friday, November 4th when they host the College of St. Rose beginning at 4PM at the Chase Pool on the campus of SUNY Oneonta
