For the third straight game, the SUNY Oneonta baseball team got a solid pitching performance, but came away with nothing to show for it, as they fell short to Plattsburgh 2-0.
Â
Freshman
James McCarty (Stony Brook/Chaminade) (0-3) pitched well for a second straight outing, throwing eight innings allowing six hits and two runs. He struck out three, but also walked five batters in facing 34 hitters over the eight innings of work.
Â
Plattsburgh (8-11) scored single runs in the sixth and the eighth innings on RBI singles by Chris Pescetti.
Â
Oneonta (3-12, 0-4 SUNYAC) rallied in the ninth and loaded the bases, but couldn't push any runs across. Junior
Joe Franke (Livingston Manor/Liberty Central) and freshman Samuel Beaulac collected two hits each for Oneonta.
Â
The Red Dragons are scheduled to play next against New Paltz on Wednesday beginning at 3pm. The game has been moved to Cantine Park in Saugerties, NY.
