The SUNY Oneonta women's basketball team shot a season-high 53 percent and easily defeated visiting Fredonia 88-36 tonight.  The victory for Oneonta (14-10, 9-8 SUNYAC) secured a SUNYAC tournament spot with one final regular season game remaining tomorrow at home against Buffalo State.  A win tomorrow will give the Red Dragons a home game on Tuesday night in the first round of the conference tournament.
 
Oneonta had three players in double figures led by sophomore Cara Adams (Attleboro, MA/Bishop Feehan) who scored 18 points off the bench.  The Red Dragon reserves outscored Fredonia's 50-9.  Freshman Samantha Lisikatos (Cold Spring/Haldane) added a collegiate high nine points off the bench as well, as she drained three from long range.
 
Joining Adams in double figures tonight were juniors Caysea Cohen (Stony Brook/Ward Melville) and Lyteshia Price (Liverpool/Liverpool) who scored 15 and 10 points respectively.
 
The Red Dragons dominated in every facet of the game tonight, leading from start to finish.  Oneonta held a rebounding advantage of 49-23.  The Red Dragons shared the ball well tonight collecting a season high 23 assists on 36 field goals.  Oneonta also made a season high 13 shots from behind the arc led by Adams who buried five from long distance.
 
Fourteen unanswered points early in the first half broke the game wide open for Oneonta.  Fredonia shot 27 percent for the game including 17 percent in the second half where they scored only 13 points.
 
Tomorrow's regular season finale is slated for a 4pm tipoff.
