Men's swimming & diving come up short at Cortland

Cortland, NY - The SUNY Oneonta men's swimming and diving team found themselves in a fight against their conference rival SUNY Cortland but were edged by just four points yesterday 109-105.

Coming up just short in several races, junior Lucas Santiago (Amsterdam/Amsterdam) finally found a victory when he touched the wall with a time of 2:04.61 in the 200 yard individual medley less than two seconds ahead of teammate and runner-up freshman Zeke Brynin (Pleasantville/Pleasantville).  Santiago also was victorious in the 200 yard butterfly in a very close race as he finished just .65 ahead of the Cortland competitor with a time of 2:01.57.

Brynin was also victorious on the day, as he won the 200 yard breaststroke with a separation of 5.34 seconds from his closest Cortland combatant.

Senior Colton Roe (Middletown/Pine Bush) also found a victory for Oneonta when he touched the wall first in the 200 yard backstroke with an outstanding time of 1:59.26 distancing himself ahead of the Cortland runner-up by almost seven seconds.
