A huge second half that included a closing run of 17-9 lifted visiting Brockport to a road win today over SUNY Oneonta in SUNYAC women's basketball action.  The Golden Eagles broke away from Oneonta (4-6/1-3 SUNYAC) with the game tied at 36 apiece with 6:29 remaining in the contest.

Sophomore Phoebe Byrnes scored eight of her game high 17 points during the final stretch that saw the Red Dragons drop its fourth straight game.

Freshman Bryn Loomis (Norwich/Norwich) led Oneonta with 10 points, which she scored in the first half.  Classmate Lyteshia Price (Liverpool/Liverpool) had 10 rebounds and nine points.

Oneonta maintained its halftime lead and was ahead 28-22 at the 16:45 mark before Brockport began to chip away at the lead.

A 14-8 spurt over the next 10 minutes by Brockport (4-6/1-2 SUNYAC) brought the game even at 36 where they continued to roll onto victory.

Senior Ellen Story contributed 14 points and eight rebounds to the winning effort for the Golden Eagles.

The first half of play included four ties and four lead changes.  Oneonta scored the opening six points of the contest before the Golden Eagles came back with six unanswered to tie the game.  The two teams continued to go back-and forth with the lead.  Brockport's largest lead in the first half was 18-14.

Oneonta seized the momentum and put together an 11-0 run that was finished off with a steal and lay up by junior Grace Schilling (Northport/Northport).  Schilling finished the first half with six points, as they had its largest at 25-18.  Oneonta would end the half with a 26-20 lead.

Oneonta will play one final game before the break at Scranton on Monday, Dec. 17 beginning at 4pm.
