The Oneonta State wrestling squad ran up against No. 5 Ithaca College tonight at home and came up on the short end of a 40-3 score.  The visiting Bombers won 9-of-10 weight classes including three by pin fall and two by technical fall in recording the lopsided win on the road.

Oneonta did see two of the top wrestlers in Div. III in Ithaca in graduate student Jeremy Stierly and senior Seth Ecker.  Stierly, a two-time national runner-up, recorded a technical fall victory over freshman Christian Dluginski (Garden City Park/New Hyde Park), 17-1 at 149 lbs.  Ecker, the defending national champion at 133 lbs., recorded Ithaca's other technical fall, 18-2 over senior Carlos Soto (Brooklyn/Sheepshead Bay).

Oneonta's lone win tonight came at 157 lbs. by sophomore Dan Graff (LaGrangeville/Arlington), who came back in the final period to defeat Brett Sanko, 5-4.  Trailing 4-3 with less than 30 seconds to go in the bout, Graff was able to record a takedown to score the two points to put him ahead.  He then was able to hold off Sanko as time expired to pick up his team-leading 10 dual win of the season.

Pins for Ithaca tonight came from Nick Sanko at 165 lbs., Grant Dickey at 174 lbs. and Matt Mahon at 285 lbs.

Oneonta will host Oswego this Saturday, Jan. 28 at 12pm in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House.
