ONEONTA, N.Y.—SUNY Oneonta senior Erika Puffer (Unadilla, Unatego) scored 12 points off the bench to lead the Red Dragons, but visiting Geneseo took a road win tonight 60-48. The Red Dragons, who entered the game as the No. 6 team in the latest NCAA East rankings, fall to 16-6 overall and 10-5 in the SUNYAC.

Geneseo (19-2/14-0) used a 17-2 run at the end of the first half to seize control of tonight's contest. The closest Oneonta was able to get was three points in the first minute of the second half, but the Blue Knights essentially put the game out of reach with a 14-2 run to increase its lead to 15 points with 11 minutes remaining in the game.

Three players scored in double figures for the visitors led by junior Bri Dunton, who scored a game high 15 points.

The score was stuck on 2-2 for nearly 3:30 in the early going until Oneonta opened up a five-point lead with an 8-3 spurt fueled by back-to-back three-pointers by senior Rebecca Bucci (Marlboro, Our Lady of Lourdes).

After Geneseo cut Oneonta's lead to two points at 11-9, Oneonta put together a second run of 9-2 to take a 20-11 lead with 8:52 remaining in the opening half.

Oneonta will be at home tomorrow afternoon against Brockport scheduled for 2:00 p.m. The women will be hosting its Pinkzone event in conjunction with the game to raise awareness of breast cancer. Spectators are asked to wear pink to the game to show your support.
