Josh Wake (Delhi/Delaware Academy)# picked up the lone win for the Red Dragons tonight in a 42-3 dual-meet loss to No. 4 Ithaca College. The loss for Oneonta drops them to 9-7 overall while the Bombers move to 18-1 overall.
Wake's win came in sudden victory when he scored a take down at the edge of the circle to take a 4-2 win.
Three nationally ranked wrestlers picked up wins for the Bombers this evening. Senior Jon Gregory (Phillipsburg, PA/Phillipsburg) recorded a tech fall at 125 lbs. to open the meet. The match ended right at the end of the second period with the score 20-5. Gregory entered tonight's action as the No. 4 wrestler in Div. III.
Junior Jeremy Stierly (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts), the No. 7 wrestler at 141 lbs., won his match by a tech fall as well in a time of 6:06.
Junior Blaine Woszczak (Manasquan, NJ/Wall), who is the No. 1 ranked wrestler at 149 lbs., recorded a major decision against
Matt Eberlein (Levittown/Island Trees) (Levittown/Island Trees) of Oneonta.
The final home date for Oneonta will be this coming Saturday when they host Williams, Wesleyan and Lycoming for a quad meet beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Chase Gymnasium.
