CORTLAND, N.Y.—The SUNY Oneonta swimming & diving teams closed out its first semester of action tonight at Cortland and came away with some strong individual performances despite dropping its dual meets to the rival Red Dragons. Both meets were close in the end with the men being defeated 141-133 while the women fell 152-131. With the losses, both teams are now 1-3 in dual meets this season.
Men's Meet

Oneonta was led by freshman
Ryan Walsh (Wingdale, Arlington), who won three events – the 100-yard butterfly (53.41), the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.93) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:09.74). Sophomore
Alex Miller (Oneonta, Oneonta) captured the 100-yard backstroke (55.84) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.61), Classmate
Scott Bertoldo (Attica, Attica) won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.43) and SUNYAC Diver of the Week, freshman
Jermaine Miller (Elmira, Southside ) won one-meter diving (304.65 points).
Women's Meet

The Oneonta women had four individual event winners in its meet. A trio of freshman led Oneonta as
Lindsey Molfino (Jamestown, Jamestown) won the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:26.84),
Alexxa Poliachik (Niagara Falls, Niagara Wheatfield) was the 200-yard butterfly winner (2:24.58), and
Kelsey Ward (Niagara Falls, Niagara Falls) captured the 500-yard freestyle (5:37.53). Sophomore
Kristen Magliola (Shoreham, Shoreham Wading River) was the 200-yard individual medley in a time of (2:14.22).
The next action for the men will be Saturday, Jan. 15 when they compete at the Kumpf Invitational hosted by Rensselaer. The women will not be back in action until Monday, Jan. 17 when both squads will compete at Skidmore.
