     Freshman Gabi Regan (Troy/Columbia) scored a team high 16 points as SUNY Oneonta opened its home and SUNYAC schedule with a 64-51 victory against visiting SUNY Potsdam.
     Sophomore Samantha Szkotak (New York Mills/New York Mills) added 13 on 5-of-5 shooting from the field in 13 minutes for the Red Dragons, who picked up its initial win of the 2009-10 season.
     Oneonta had a 20-point lead at halftime as the visitors shot a dismal 11 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.  Szkotak led all scorers in the first half with eight points.
     Potsdam made the game a bit interesting in the second half when they cut Oneonta's lead to 12 points with just under 10 minutes to go.  After a 30-second timeout by the Red Dragons, they put the game away with a 12-0 run to get its lead back to 24 points.
     Junior Aimee Kellicut (Lesle) led all scorers in the game with 18 points for the Bears.  Senior Cortney Poirier (Moira/Brushton-Moira) added 15 points in the loss.
     The Red Dragons will play again tomorrow when they play host to Plattsburgh in a SUNYAC game beginning at 2:00 p.m.
