Fortier helped the men’s soccer team advance to the Round of 16 in the NCAA tournament this past weekend after scoring two goals, one a game winner and providing an assist on another game winning goal.
In Saturday’s come from behind victory over Baldwin Wallace, Fortier received a pass from teammate Matt Brown and deposited a rocket just inside the right post past the Yellow Jackets goalkeeper.
On Sunday, he was instrumental in the first goal when he maneuvered around a couple of defenders on the right flank and sent a pass to a wide open teammate in the middle of the field who finished with style. Fortier scored eight minutes later off a corner kick that was flicked on by a teammated and used his head to finish it off.
He leads the team with 12 goals this season.
